9 Reasons Why Nations Fail

One of the very deep rooted subjects we never actually stop and wonder about. If you focus on the reasons listed below you might find some common points in Nations that failed till date.

  1. Distinguishment

Separating classes and sects amongst a nation is always dangerous. Rich or poor both are living beings and both are equal in all aspects. White, black or brown all belong to a nationality and should be accepted by everyone. As it is said “birds of a feather flock together”.

2. Strive to succeed unitedly

The Nations that say no to achieving milestones together never grow. To succeed teamwork is required. Even a single member neglected or left behind will slow down or halt growth.

3. Finding future in the past

If we keep seeking our future on the basis of our past then failure is destined. Nations fail because they never realise that the future is built by what is done in the present not what happened in the past. What happened can’t be undone but what’s going to happen can be tempered by directing your present.

4. Violating basic human rights

All are equal in the eyes of God and in the light of law. The violation basic human rights of an individual leads to failure as a whole as one bad egg spoils the batch. Nations that constantly struggle with safeguarding their rights never succeed.

5. Poor choice of leadership

In this modern and competitive world, nations are still enslaved due to opting for incompetent or self-centered office holders. A leader is the captain of a ship and if the captain is corrupt then the ship will eventually sink. Failed nations select their leaders purely based on their class or community.

6. Decisions made by a third party

A united nation takes their decisions by consensus and mutual agreement. Whenever an outside or third party is allowed to make decisions that is the point where Nations actually lose their directions and fall apart.

7. Suppressing the freedom of speech and visions

Every single voice is important, limiting the right to speak is similar to choking the whole nation. We never know who might pop up with a very bright and revolutionary idea that can change the course of the nation. Those nations that do not value freedom of speech and vision often are left behind.

8. Mending religion to pave ways

Religion has always been that weak spot of humans throughout the course of history. Nations fail because they do not follow the actual teachings but rather use religion to their advantage. Whenever religion becomes a tool to protect oneself or pave ways it results in conflict and hence failure.

9. Gender Inequality

As a hot topic as this might be, gender inequality is everywhere. Look to any corner of most nations and you will find a certain type of discrimination. This is not only for females, but males as well.

Instead of fighting for who is right, and being pushed around in the workplaces, the obvious solution is for mutual respect and understanding. Without understanding the genders, no peace can be reached as well as a strong, balanced nation.
